Something different

Crossfit has taken presedence in the way I train and how I train a majority of my clients. This has happened because that Crossfit delivers the best overall result to improving a persons fitness quickly. Most of us want something that works and something that will keep them entertained while they are doing it. The only thing about Crossfit is that the program does not specialize in specific realms of the fitness components that we use. That means that training for a particular skill will take additional time to dial in proper mechanics for better efficiency. I have always read into and studied other areas of training and have continued to incorporate them with certain groups of people who I train. A few months back Jeremy and I began coaching programs that were specific to using Kettlebells. This tool delivers huge fitness benefits once you learn how to use it correctly.
This weekend I attended my first certification geared directly towards Kettlebell training with Jeff Martone. Although, I have spent many of hours studying Kettlebell training, the weekend actually fired me back up to get these classes filled with people who have not spent much time with them. Kettlebell training I have noticed is quite addicting once you really start swinging around for a little bit. It seems like once you get something down with them, another drill is right there to challenge you. If you have not been to a class yet, jump into one immediately I will even allow your first session of participation free of charge. You will learn more new tricks that you can do with a simple(yet interesting looking) weight that you can do in your living room or hotel room if you are traveling.
By the way, if you sign up for the class, we will be selling Kettlebells for have price to new clients. For a class that is only $100 I only can say one thing... Why wait any longer?

Email me about free class participation. Only 2 people will be allowed to attend any givin class.

Loosing Focus

Sometimes I will find a workout that will nail me to the ground. Not finishing or wanting to finish a workout is usually a consideration that I will eliminate from my thoughts. However the last 4 days I hit a wall in 2 separate workouts in which I chose not to finish one of and needed Coach John to get me through the other.
There was a reason this happened and I will throw this out there because it has been on my mind more than I would like it to be. Some of my clients I think will appreciate this post.
I am 26 and almost grown out of my desire to go out to bars and parties. However over the last month or so I have been finding reasons to do that a lot more than I should. I have not completely let myself go in that I have been eating well but the combination of lose of sleep with too much alcohol in my system has been causing me to fatigue easily throughout the day and crash hard in my training. Although the times I have been spending doing those things were enjoyable during the moment, my focus is what has driven me to get where I am today. Many times handling a workloads upwards of 80 hours and 6 workouts a week. I take pride that I work hard and will not let any activity disrupt that for an extended period of time. I don't stress out on things I do because it is indeed what I love. My fitness and health, staying on the right side of the continuum are of the most importance to me. My clients are important to me. This blog and the people who draw motivation from it are important to me. If I seem like I've been slipping over the last month, I apologize. I have stated aloud that my focus is in back intact and I will not lose it again. Every day is a chance to improve, or if you need to, revamp yourself to get on the right track. Let’s steadily make our way forward on that ongoing track of progression.

Bring a newbie to get in

This morning Crossfit Central hosted a workout at Headquarters location. We wanted to go a bit beyond what we would normally do with this one in that an existing client was only allowed to come if they were to bring somebody with them. With only two one days notice 15 clients showed up with another 18 visitors. Crossfit Central's circle is growing more and more everyday. Every program is open to the public with a several of our classes being capped at a maximum capacity. We are seeing a shift in our approach to allowing a new person to come in that in order to train in our programs with our coaches, potential clients will have to be on a waiting list. On top of that, the waiting list will be reserved for people who are friends or family of somebody already in the classes.
We want everyone in our programs to feel like they belong in those programs. We want bonds between all our clients and coaches in that each one of us know at any given time we got each others back. Pushing yourself as hard as you are able to enhance the physical levels of lifestyle is something that is always easier with a group striving for the same thing. People with the same goals and ambitions you have are the people you should always surround yourself with. The closer they are to you, the farther you will be able to go!
Those of you that train with us, I promise you we will keep fighting forward Day by Day and be the Family that we've truly have become!

Great Job to those of you who brought someone today. That was your key to get in the doors and you turned it into another great morning workout!

FGB III

A Year goes by and you look back and say "WOW!" A year ago I had been in Austin for a year. The day after I got here was the Day that Crossfit Central was hosting the First anual Fight gone Bad Fundraiser. I never new what was coming to me. I jumped into that workout expecting to do well and it smacked me in the face harder than I have ever been smacked before. Right after that smack in the face I was sure a Mac truck immediately came at me from the side and Plowed me over with about all 18 wheels and left me to suffer. I just wish I would have been more prepared. A year ago I was apart of the Crossfit Central team setting up for an event that we couldn't have hoped for a better outcome. 50 people working out for a cause and another 50 to assist and encourage a stong group of hard working people looking to give reason to back what they do. I was still hurting afterwords but the recovery was a whole lot easier. Our team raised $12,000 during to event to support Prostate Cancer.
This year this team has a vision to raise Twice the amount of money. This team has a desire be twice as fit as they were 2 years ago when this all started. And we encourage every living, moving, breathing individual to come out and be apart of the whole thing. Visit the side FGB III link for more info on the event.

If you donate to sponcer me directly I will match all my donations up to $500
