Why so Emotional?



I love this emo music. I guess that is what it is known as. I don't always really feel like the lyrics relate to me and how I feel, but the emotion that comes out gets me hyped up. The beat has alot to do with it too. I may be the odd ball out on this but when I want to get geared up for a workout, give me some raw-mellow dramatic music to amp me up.

The Dot Com's

 

Crossfit Central Coaches are in training for The 2009 National Crossfit Games which are coming up in July. Before that we have the Regional Qualifiers in May which will be in Ft. Worth.
Only 5 competitors from our 5 state Region will go to California for the individual competition. I know there are many people whom I do not know that will show up to Ft. Worth ready to compete. Our coaches all have ambitions to qualify and almost every day you will be able to find us at the Gym doing Crossfit.com Workout of the Day (Usually between 1 and 2pm on Weekdays).
This training protocol is the best way to become generally prepared to perform well at any workout they could throw at us at the Qualifiers or the Games. The website will allow any individual who has any weekness in there fitness to improve on them over a long term commitment to following it.
These workouts are not easy(even for us) and not alway exactly what we would prefer to see as our Workout each day.

You gotta do what your not good at and usually that falls into you gotta do what you don't like!

A Go Getter!

 

It's funny. You never really expect somebody you've grown so accostumed to seeing tell you that they are out! "I am leaving for Greece and will not be coming to Crossfit anymore. Maybe I will be able to do it there."

What? Your leaving? What?
Wait this doesn't make any sence.

Jenny was one of Crossfit Central's original Indoor clients. She is the only person from the start of the original 3 classes that has shown up almost every single time (excepts some vacations), been one of 2 to work out with me on free workout day, traveled with us to a seminar for Parkour, come to our first semina and has done a majority of the Challenges we ever put on.

This girl has never let up and continued to improve in every way imaginable with her skill sets in Crossfit. The mountains she has conquered have not gone unnoticed and I give her a mad amount of respect for staying on top of her game consistantly throughout the last year and a half.

This Friday will be her last Workout with Crossfit Central before she leaves. I believe she will be back at some point, but until then Jenny, you are left with this.

Can I Thruster?



I am begining to gain some power coming out of a Deep squat. I have been verbalizing that My Left leg will be equal to my Right. This is happening as we speak. I believe that in a year and a half I will be there.

I am excited that I am improving. I am doing 240 lbs on a Max Thruster today. I max power cleaned 295 a couple weeks back. My max push Jerk is roughly 285. These numbers may seem good but rememer I weigh almost 240 and Ideally I will gain big improvement on them all. Doing this and gaining speed in my Med Con Workouts are my focus.

With you in mind!

 

Crossfit Central hosted a seminar this past weekend held specifically for the "I Am Crossfit Challenge" clients to teach them how to do fitness on their own. They had the opportunity to come in to our gym and learn an exstensive amount about movements they will be able to use to become more fit.
Our objective is teaching people what Fitness is. Our objective is empowering people to be fit.
We have 110 Clients doing this challenge. These people take the opportunity to do workouts that will enable them to reach a higher level of fitness. These people will do this on their own. These clients will be so well versed in understanding efficient training, that they will no longer need Crossfit Central to be fit.
Crossfit Central really wants Austin to be the fittest city in the country. Crossfit Central recognizes the major gap in why it is nowhere close to being that. We realize that until people know what fitness is, they can not be FIT by its truest meaning. Crossfit Central will not rest before people become educated to what fitness truely is and why it is so important to be fit. We strive to give a clear understanding to the term fitness so that improved levels of physicality can be reach by many more people.
We love our clients. We will continue to challenge them all to reach new levels of physical ability. We will encourage them to not settle for the idea that 2 workouts and a 2 mile run every week is all they need to do to be fit. We will continue to educate them in the fundamentals of good nourishment and movement patterns.
Crossfit is something special! We have the ability to share this with many people and are obligated to do so. We have been blessed to provide something so great to so many people. We are excited that so many people are now able to do Crossfit on their own and have enough knowledge to do it safely from the work that we've done. We hope to impact more as we continue to bring light to this amazing thing we have our hands on. To you we give ourselves in hope that it finds and impacts your life the way it has ours.

To everyone Joining us this Saturday morning for the Free community workout, please offer the chance for all of your friends and loved ones to join us. It may end up being one of the greatest things you've ever done for them!

Inspired by Ya'll

 

I have the opportunity everyday to witness amazing efforts from many individuals that are internally driven to be better. They are people who set a bar for themselves everytime they come into Crossfit Central workouts and say " I will go higher than that bar today. The bar is set slightly higher than they have ever gone before and still effort that doesn't get them above it is not quite good enough for their expectations for themselves.

I see this happen and I become insprired. You see, no matter how high a level I get with my own fitness, I still love to see the achievements made by all the clients who come into the programs. If you all were not continuously enhancing in your own abilities, then I myself may become content with my present state. Instead I look to you all for constant motivation. The heart you lay down on the line everyday forces me to say "OK, I know they got it, but what am I capable of?"

Catherine (who just had a Birthday and 1 year anniversary as a CF Central Client) has been one who's achievements have blown me away. I see hear workout and I see what she has done for herself and I go harder because I want to make the types of changes that she has.

What you guys do Inspires Me!

What you guys do Inspires other people around you!

What you guys do will change the Lives of many people who get to know you!

The Core

 

I believe the center of every man and woman has to be based around spirituality. Without
it, every belief would have to be based around only what the earth can provide. There are
many great things this world has to offer, but the presence of a greater being provides
the fulfillment of the great surrounding we have the opportunity to be present with!
We can learn much from the amazing leaders who stepped ahead of us. I can't help but take note
of the firm spiritual beliefs that guided them in so many ways.

As if it has already Happened!

2009 - What a year. Crossfit Central is recognized as The Fitness Professionals in Austin, TX. No other Organization has ever achieved such credibility near as quickly in this field. Our client base has tripled from 250 to 750+. Their excitement has everybody leaving their current gyms to challenge themselves with a better program that produces real results!
Crossfit Central has established itself as a staple in Austin's Fitness Community. With the mission to make Austin truely the Fittest city, Crossfit Central's team consist of many of the Fittest people in the Country. This team has made an amazing difference in many peoples lives and feels blessed for the opportunity help do so much for the city.
Crossfit Central has truely revolutionized the fitness industry and created a huge sence of exctitment for more and more people to get involved with amazing people willing to take risk toward the overall enhancement of their physical lives!
