Love to Cook!

Or do you even know how. I've been doing it since I can remember. I was definately standing about eye level at the time.

Now I'm the best cook I know and I only am truly satisfied after one of my own meals.

Today's Supper:
3 oz of Ribeye Steak
2 oz of Chicken Sausage
Heaping amount of Sauted
Spinach
Asparagus
Onion
Red Bell Pepper
Brocolli
Little Brown Mushrooms

Thanks me for the wonderful feast!

If you aren't eating like this I suggest you learn. Crossfit Central will be hosting a Nutrional Seminar at the
gym at 7 pm tomorrow night. We are the healthiest people you know and there is a reason we don't go see doctors for advice or anything else for that matter!

No more Cotton!

I made a decision to switch and now I'm addicted! Until recently I wore cotton Boxer Briefs during my workouts. I Bought a couple pairs of Nike Pro Compression shorts in hopes of removing some irritation caused by my leg and my briefs rubbing together.

The Problem was solved and now I own about 10 pair. I'm hooked!

Compression is Essential for Crossfit!

My Choice:

Nike Pro

Crossfit Games

I'm not the most entertaining interview, but Carey(Spectator in 2008 games/ Contender in 09 Qualifiers) did a post Games interview with us last year. This year we do not know what to expect this year, but we do know we will be ready.

Ft. Worth Qualifiers are Sold out and will showcase the fittest Male and Female Crossfitters in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri. If you've payed any attention to college or professional sports, these states have Athletes!

Some of our clients are going to spectate and cheer us on. We appreciate you guys so much! Anyone else who would like to consider going, please do! It is so helpful to have any support when it comes to competing in the Unknown and the Unknowable.

Drinking the Kool-aid

We had several clients now dive in full head of steam with Crossfit now. They come to work out with us at the gym, and they Crossfit on their own at a bigger Globo gym(not recommended) or at their own homes(smart move)!

I get asked constantly, "What else can I do on my own?" "What do I eat?" "What kind of workouts should I be doing?"

One Big Recommendation I can make for everybody who is doing their own thing is Pull ups! Get a Bar and do Pull ups. I see no reason why anybody that has been doing Crossfit for more than 3 months to not be doing any unassisted pull ups yet.

One of our big Dawgs(Who has got some recent love on Coach Cantu's blog and the Indoor Blog) has just started offering his service to build you guys your very own Pull up Bar. Atticus has built himself one will be doing one for me soon.

If you don't have Pull ups, Kipps, or Butterflys in your repertoire yet check out this site for your own good!

Workout in any Weather

2 days ago I was sitting at the computer in my house and I felt sweat running down my leg. What do you know... The cold weather is gone! Finally! I love Texas and I love the heat. For me though I have to stay aware of drinking fluids when I may otherwise not really worry about it. If I don't consume at least 12 ounces of water every hour then I will start losing hydration.

More importantly, there is no room to take any risk of not staying hydrated if you plan on working out with us over the the next several months. Our workouts and the sun will smash you in the Face relentlessly if you are not doing your part.

It has been said before, If you can workout in the heat then you can workout in any weather. (Right Noon Class?)
Be responsible for yourself when you step into our programs... No Excuses!

Most underated product for all you Advocare users is REHYDRATE. Its Awesome

Who is the Best in the World?

The Man in the Center of this pic is! John Brzenk is undoubtedly the Baddest Dude on the face of the Planet when it comes to Arm Wrestling.
The Sport has never received much glory over its history which dates back a hell of alot longer than any sport I've ever been apart of. The truth is though, some of the most talented athletes compete in it and they are more than impressive to watch.
John Brzenk has competed in Arm Wresting basically his whole life. When he was 20 years old he claimed his first world Title in the sport. Over the last 30 years this man has dominated and still remains at the top of the game.
After 5 years of working on a project, Sevan Matossian (who directed the Crossfit Games Movie) was able to release the world Premier of the Documentary Pulling John hear in the ATX at SXSW 2009. He invited us all to attend this past weekend at the convention center. All I can say is what an honor! This movie was freakin Awesome! To top it off we got to meet and hang out with the Man himself.
You have a final chance to see the Movie yourself at Alamo Draft House 3 on Lamar. The Final Screen in tomorrow night at 9:30 pm. Take advantage of it!

Sevan... Even though you get beat by all the woman in Crossfit WODs, I got mad respect for you bro! Thanks for the great weekend opportunity.

The Sport is upon Us

Explosion! That is basically how I have to describe Last Weekends "Fittest Games Challenge". Competitors from Austin and Dallas met up the their respected cities to go head to head against each other. Little did they expect, athletes from outside cities and even states(Ohio and Kentucky) showed up to push them off their rocker.
The Workouts were hard. Pushing themselves to their absolute limits, every athlete took responsibility for the outcome of their final positions.
This event was a eye opener for everyone involved. I am not sure anybody was ready for the type of Crossfit Competition that was prepared to show up in aim to have some rights to be declared amongst the Fittest Athletes in TX. It is because of this alone that the winner of this event (on April 4th) will be sent to FT Worth to compete at Hell's Half Acre (Southwest Regional Qualifiers).
Put Simply, the Sport of Fitness has arrived. Athletes at the Peak of Crossfit will be remembered for many years to come. Crossfit's Community across the board has been built by these amazingly gifted athletes and without them Crossfit would not be what it is today.
This program is that of General fitness. I am personnally proud of the fact that Crossfit has helped so many everyday people get remotivated to take care of their health again. More than that though, I am unbelievably amped by the growth of this sport and by the and the amazing opportunity to see, know and compete with athletes who are at the pinnacle of Humam Performance.

Intensity = Power
Power is getting work done over time.
Crossfiters get a whole lot of work done Very Fast!
Crossfitters are Powerful!
Crossfiters are Intense!

Load it Up!

Crossfit Central has been built with an attempt to stay loyal to the needs of our clients. As coaches we have aimed to provide to your needs as we've grown. We didn't want to do to much to fast and I feel like that has allowed us to maintain stronger working relationships with you all as clients.

Starting a Barbell program has been something that I have thought about doing for about a year and a half now. I wasn't ready to do it for the sake of allowing enough of you to built a general base of well rounded fitness first. I also felt the need to hold off so that I myself could be ready to take on the responsibility to focus this very specific type of program will demand.

Crossfit is a training program that demands much out of all 10 of the physical skills of human performance. It is also a program who's best athletes have a tremendous amount of strength and power to compliment their endurance and speed.
Over the last 6 months I have watched almost all of our coaches make major improvements in their overall fitness by increasing strength. Every single one of our clients needs more out of this realm as well.

This has led me to decide that the time to do a Barbell Class is now! This program will be a specially Program and limited to only a few people. All who do it will receive the best instruction to improve on these movements and set up on a program (Additional Workouts included) which will lead them all to a destination of improved
Strength, Power, Coordination, Balance, Agility, and Accuracy.

Tuesday, March 17th will be the kick off date. I will hold 2 classes (7am and 6:15pm)
which will be an hour long. The Program will be 6 weeks in length. There will be a Limit of 8 people per group. Olympic and Strength Movements will all be focused on.

Contact me if you have further questions, or Sign up Online Now!
