WoW!

"I feel Terrible!" is what a woman from my church office said to me today. She went on about becoming sick back in January and still hasn't been able to regain energy to make her feel good about much of anything.

I told her what she needs to do to start regaining her health and energy.

She acted like I was telling her everything she didn't want to hear.

Who Do you listen too?
Check out this article by Lori Johnson for CBN News posted on Crossfit.com today about some of the latest Findings of Heart Failure treatment.
Is this interesting to you? To us it is not!

Off week has been Canceled

Not Really!

We will however be hosting some free workouts next week at the Gym. Chris and I will be coaching Free KettleBell Workouts starting on Monday of next week.

Our Kettlebell programs are ran very similar to a Crossfit class in that we focus first on good technique with lighter weight and over time increase intensity with speed and heavier Bells.

Coaches often participate in KB classes to get in a great workout with these awesome pieces of equipment and I would love to see our clients follow suit.

This is a chance for you all to come in and learn how to use this tool in many ways you may not be aware of.

Take advantage of the opportunity to reserve a spot in 1 or 2 of these workouts on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday next week at either 6 am or 12 pm.

What are you willing to give up!

I have heard it said that when you truly want to accomplish something bad enough, you first have to give up other things in your life first.Posted by Picasa
Many people will struggle with this because they have already placed a level of importance to those things simply because they make them feel comfortable.
The deal is, when you are out to accomplish anything that is at all challenging, you must first get outside of your comfort zone. People are timid to do this and for that reason their ability to accomplish anything new will not exist.
People who do this live ina state of mediocrity.
There are 5 areas of all our lives that when are all specifically targeted for improvement will enhance us into a state of fulfilment that only our dreams can touch.
Spiritual, Mental, Physical, Fiscal and Emotional balance are all key priorities in my life when I consider setting higher bars for myself. I know if I am lagging on improving in any of those areas my life will fail to elevate any higher. I currently know I have major room for improvement in over half these areas and will seek out more guidance to help me get where I know I can be.
Our specialty is to help improve all those who seek out enhancement of their physical livelihood.
I wish I could say it was the only thing so that I can give myself tons of Credit, but the truth is that it is only one thing.
I will work hard for balance in my life while continuing to let go of things that are not helping me get there.
How do you approach not settling for mediocrity in your life?

We are your team!

Nobody works to their potential when they work alone. I know to many people that workout by themselves and sell themselves short every workout.

I know to many people who used to be in extremely good shape when they were apart of a team sport, and have since dropped the ball on when it came to challenging themselves physically.

I've know numerous people who have picked a workout parter that was less motivated than they were, and failed to stick it out for any extended amount of time.

I have heard over and over from our clients that have joined and seen success that they like working out with us because we are like a team. Not only us but the other students in the class create a sence of obligation and reason to show up. Everybody is excited for those who are aroud them to improve and push themselves harder. Everybody does things in our classes that are inspiring to me and to the others.

We are glad to be your support beam if you need us to. Just know that even if you aren't ready yet, you will soon be feeling the same roll for somebody else.

Paleo in a Nutshell

I don't know how many times I've said to people that we do what we do so that we can age well and decrease our chances of most problems people experience in their later years.

Who you are and your condition of life will be based entirely upon what you do for yourself now.

This video is right up my alley with the way I think about fitness and in health.

Vanity training is Finished. Who cares what you look like. Take care of your health now and let your future be one that is enabled.

A Growing Class

The 8 am is a class that has grown fast. With the help of coaches Jess and Alex, there are some heavy hitters showing up to get in some killer workouts.

Today was a good one as they competed in teams of 3. Working together in workouts forces you to not only work hard, but stragetize as well in order to get a better time.

Got Hops

Stack some weights on a box and jump on it. Now add another 2 in weight. Can you do it again? And another one.

Sometimes when I see people jump on a high box, it can seem as if they are floating their way up on top. It is the closest thing to slow motion that I see happen at actual speed.

Hear I caught Chris from 6:15 PM with a near perfect timing snapshot. If only I was on the other side to get more light.
Still thought the pic to be very cool!

Paleo Pizza

I saw this video on Crossfit Diablo's site. After I thought, "Wow! Is this real?" I realized that I can't be surprised by amount of effort anybody will go through to neglect others health anymore.

It did remind me however of Jeremy talking about making a Paleo version of pizza the other day. I don't know if he figured out a way to replace the common ingredients of Dough or cheese in this concoction, but the thought of a healthy pizza with some flavor to it sounded like a grand idea to me.

If you have any ideas of how to make this work, let me know. I'd love to hear about it.

Why Technique is important

Technique can make or miss a lift. It can also conserve a whole lot of energy if it is done properly.

Every exercise we do has technical components to it. It is to your benefit to know how to do things properly if you truely want to optimize your performance in a workout.

Here is a great video teaching how to row properly. I see major faults often in class when we use this machine during workouts. I hope this will help eliminate most of that for you all.

Go do your workout!

Posted by Picasa

It's not always easy to tell yourself that you need to do your workout today. It not always the most exciting thing to go push yourself through something so intense. The I must have about 10,000 pictures on my computer of people working out and in very few of them do I see smiling faces.

My question though is that if you don't have to, why skip out on it. Everybody has feelings that they don't feel like working out.

I'm too tired. I'm too sore. My Head kinda hurts. It's way too early. It's way too late. It's too F'ing Hot! It's too F'ing cold. Oh its Just a Saturday workout, no big deal if I don't go.

I know people that let thoughts like this effect their actions and it always results in regression of there fitness levels.

Crossfit Central and I have a Motto...
We will be there.

If you are in our classes, expect to workout when you show up, because we won't skip.

If you are in my class, I expect to see you there unless you tell me otherwise.

Show up to your commitment!
You will be glad you did.
