My Grocery trip

 

I made a post a few weeks back about buying healthy foods and if it was expensive to do it.
I don't really know how to put any perspective onto food being expensive or not. The truth is I never blink or think twice when it comes to 2 things with money and that is what I eat and having a good time.

Please understand that I do not promote eating out 20 times a week, but if you do go out to eat there is a very easy way to be in control of what you eat.

So I have at many times said I will post my grocery receipt on my blog to hopefully give you guys an Idea of how I get my feel at home(even with sweet tooth).

This is about a week for me in what I gather at the store.

4 Almond Breeze Milks
2 Greek Gods Yogurt with Honey
1 Premade Burger Chipotle Chedder
2 Premade Burger (Chipotle Burger)
1 marinaded Chipoltle Jerk Chicken Breast
1 lb of jalapeno chedder Chicken Sausage Links
1 marinaded Garlic Pesto Chicken Breast
1 lb Galic Pork Sausage Links
1 lb Jalepeno Cheddar Pork Sausage Links
2 pints of Blueberries
2 lbs of Black Seedless Grapes
2 Lbs of Strawberries
1 lb of Mushrooms
1 Head of Red Kale
3 Sweet Potatoes
1 lb of Fresh Okra
3 Red Bell Peppers
2 Bags of Brocolli Florets
1 Bundle of Asparagus
3 Green Bell Peppers
3 Green Zucchini Squash
3 Large Avocados
1 1/2 lbs of Chicken Salad
Some Ground Coffee
3 Coconut Waters
3 Lacroix Sparkling Lime Waters

I Also do about 2 lbs of Almond Butter a week which I bought Last night on a seperate trip.

I Know this is not 100% Paleo and I am ok with that.

I just thought it could help you all make some wiser, more informed choices on your Grocery Trips.
Remember... No Grains =)

I appreciate you sharing your grocery list with us. It definitely looks like we buy "some of the same items" but I buy a lot more protein for our family and more veggies (i.e. broccoli, zucchini and squash, etc..) but it's good to know I'm on the right track.. I JUST NEED TO STAY OFF THE BREAD! Thanks! xxoxx

Do you generally prep your weekly meals on Sunday? This is a great list, especially for people just starting on the Zone. Do you guys recommend 1 cheat meal a week or zero?

I am a believer in adapt as you go. There is so many things you can do to make you eating habits better. Making your entire diet perfect instantly isn't realistic really.

Make better food choices first (Paleo)

Zone or dial in your portions 2nd.
Protein will be key every day.

Cheat when you feel you need to eat something sweet but never binge.

Today is sunday and I ate a biscuit and gravy, a pankake and more cheese than usual. I also got my protein with beef, bacon and eggs. Always be aware of those things if possible.
